For three years from now (2026 to 2029), the GEWO Ball Ultra SLP 40+*** is the official ball of the German Championships in Erfurt and of all national ranking tournaments of the German Table Tennis Association (DTTB). From the first serve at club level to the national elite, German table tennis relies on a ball that responds the same way with every touch.

The ball is made exclusively from high-quality, ITTF-compliant poly material – seamless, using state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and the engineering expertise of German material experts (“Designed by German Experts”). An elaborate selection process during manufacturing ensures optimised roundness and hardness for a perfectly consistent bounce.

Independent engineers from ZEISS non-destructively measured the GEWO SLP balls using the ZEISS COMET L3D 2 3D sensor and the ZEISS Metrotom 800 computed tomography scanner, in direct comparison with two established competitor brands with a seam. All balls tested measure between 40.32 mm and 40.36 mm in diameter (ITTF requirement: 40.00–40.50 mm), with a maximum shape deviation of just 0.08 to 0.14 mm, and an average wall thickness deviation of just 0.08 mm – less than the thickness of a human hair.

The GEWO Double Star SLP 40+ is the top version of the GEWO training ball made from seamless poly material. Ideally suited for junior training, multiball training and robot training. In numerous material tests with its contracted players, coaches and clubs, the GEWO expert team (“Designed by German Experts”) created the ball and continuously refined it until it was ready for the market.
